Vine app to be replaced with ‘Vine Camera' in January, community still shutting down
Twitter announced back in October that its micro video sharing service Vine will shut down in the coming months, and today the company has updated its plans for the social network.The community feature of Vine is still going away (although it will be preserved for now), but the Vine app will become Vine Camera next month.The general idea is that the video capture feature within the app can still exist as it does today without much attention from its developers. Rather than including a dedicated social network with in the app, Vine Camera will let users capture 6-second looping videos that can be shared directly on Twitter.Twitter will also work to push the existing Vine community to Twitter as it shuts down the dedicated community:
