Apple launches Multi-Touch Repair Program for iPhone 6 Plus display flickering issue
Apple today has launched a new repair program for iPhone 6 Plus users affected by the widely reported on “Touch Disease” hardware flaw. This flaw centers around an iPhone's display becoming unresponsive and displaying a thin gray flickering line along the top.As part of the new repair program, Apple will repair affected devices for a flat service price of $149.Apple writes on its website that it has determined that “some” iPhone 6 Plus units are plagued by the problem. The company, however, attributes such issues to the device having been dropped multiple times on a hard surface rather than a manufacturing flaw.The issues were reported on back in August with an in-depth investigation describing the affected iPhone 6 Plus models as “ticking time bombs just waiting to act up.”Apple writes the following concerning the issues:
